Black and Silver engine covers - anyone know yet?

Didn't some of the later models still have HVA issues? Even with the black engine cover....?

Well seems the definitive answer is still not known. . . . :?

I was primarily asking as a new forum member was looking to buy a Zed which had a silver engine cover (and mine is black).

Not so much of a concern now as that same member has gone and got himself a lovely ///MR. . . :) :thumbsup:

But if anyone does have the answer please post away - I'd love to know - especially regarding any links with the HVA issue.

mine is the very last z4 coupe imported into the Uk, mine as a black cover, it also had problems with the HVA's - one step forward 2 back :?
 
Some cars with the n52 engine seemed to make a ticking noise-it was blamed on the hva's being drained of oil but not all cars were affected?
Mine has got 80k on the clock with no history of a replacement head but is quiet (thankfully)

A wise bearded man told me that cars with silver engine covers are actually slightly faster. Coincidentally mine has a silver engine cover. :D
