well my marks are not from bird crap and the ash covers my car every couple of days. These marks def wont polish out seems to look like its under the laquer .I only just came back to this thread and I am starting to think volcanic ash!!!...but if this was the case every car would have this problem...I will try and get a photo of the marks to show.

from what I have read it is ash, but lots of factors need to be considered as to why not all cars are affected, such as differences in lacquer, wax/polished used to protect, how much exposure to ash etc....

Mine is looking terrible, didn't dry it properly last time (only 2 days ago!) so not sure if it's that or a mixture of volcanic dust and pollen! :x Absolute waste of time cleaning it at the moment I want a garage NOW!! :evil:

Well I cleaned my car today and lo and behold I have about 6 marks on my bonnet, the sort of marks that bird crap leave if left too long, about 5p size. They certainly weren't there when I cleaned the car last week and I have had no bird crap to clean off. The car was only dusty + 1 rain shower from its last clean.
I will have a go with some polish when I have a bit of time, hopefully they will come out.
