Good plan. The whole point of living is to make life better for the next generation.
and what if there is no next generation...

Make sure you live life to the full and what you do leave, leave to a charity of your choice rather than the state!
Anything rather than the government getting their hands on it!
yes we plan to ;)

my comment was more directed at buzyg tbh ;) mattwaltersz4m summed it up a bit better I reckon though :D

When I go I will have nobody to leave anything to.
Anybody want to sub me £100K now and I will stick you down on the will to receive everything when I go?

Rates will not be going up anytime soon, if anything I won't be surprised if they go down, look out for the next recession, the country is on the bones of its arse.

There has never been a better time to borrow if you want/need to. That said if you have any surplus cash sloshing around and you have a mortgage, the most efficient use of the dosh is to pay down your mortgage with it, (Offset Mortgages are great for this) don't waste your time saving if you have a mortgage. Just get a zero/low interest credit card for rainy day/emergency money and keep it in a sealed envelope - use the 'just-in-time' technique that industry uses rather than have cash sitting around doing nothing.
