Hi Guys,

Im Luke from S.Wales.

I recently sold my s2000 :( and bought my z4.

Its a 3.0 sport, black, red leather, sat nav etc. It took me to find one with the spec i wanted but persistence paid off!

I've only gone a broke my cup holder already though, doh. I've seen one on amazon, but with delivery its £50 which seems quite a lot for what it is. Any of you guys bought one elsewhere?

Thanks

Luke.

bought mine from main dealer. They are getting hard to get now so id buy what you can find.

Cupholders are around £25 brand new from the dealer, so don't pay more for one.

Hi luke - Welcome

So.... which is better the s2k or the zed? I looked at the s2000 before buying my zed, but never test drove one. Care to share the difference in driving experience?

Cheers

Thanks for the advice guys.

Tried to phone the dealer, but they want the chassis number and don't have the car with me at the mo :(

Adamski, if I'm honest at the moment, my old s2k would have been the winner. But it was my first decent sports car, so I think it will always hold a special place for me.

the BMW is a lot more comfortable, just as fast, i feel safer with it due to traction control etc, more MPG, cheaper insurance etc, but i loved how raw the s2k was. it was noisy, a pain when under 6k rpm, not comfortable, boot was a bit crap etc etc, but the moment you put your foot down, and screamed it over 6k, you couldn't but revert to your 5 year old state and smile uncontrollably.

Im not trying to be controversial since I'm on the Z4 forum, I'm just saying my honest opinion. Don't get me wrong, i love my Z4, I wouldn't have bought it otherwise, but I think it was the "sensible" option for me.

my Z4, sorry about the crappy pics.

Welcome to the forum - hope you start to really enjoy the Z4 soon.

No controversy in what you have said - all cars have their plusses and minuses and there's a lot of room for honest opinions here. I think there are plenty of good things about the S2K, and the gearbox is simply something else.

Nothing controversial there mate, but thanks for the insight. Think you've made a good move, and will enjoy having useable torque again!

Wouldnt class a 3.0si as sensible though!

Hi Luke, Nice car, and good to see that you have had the best of both worlds!

Thats the way to do it!
