Not sure if this is in the right section so mods please feel free to move it if necessary.
Iv got an 07 reg coupe with the standard business set up, what I want to do to get a bit more bass into the car is build a custom enclosure in the boot and run a slimline 10” sub with a small amp tucked away somewhere.
All straight forward so far but what I need help with is:- what is the easiest way to get to the speakers behind the head rests as I am intending to tap the signal from these and run it to the speaker level inputs on the amp? Is there any way i can get to these speakers from the boot to make runing the cable easy?
There is a cardboard type panel which looks as if it should come away from the back of the boot but im a bit reluctant to go pulling off bits of trim without knowing if im actually in the right area.
Has anyone done something similar or got any pictures of the boot without bits of the trim installed so I can gauge what lives where, also does anybody know if the signal sent to the rear head rest speaker is full range?
Any help would be appreciated so I can get started on this asap, the sub iv got only requires 17litre box and a 85mm mounting depth so hopefully should be quite a tidy install.

Assuming its the same as a roadster removing the rear panel will give you access to the speaker wires, the wires are twisted together and very easy to spot. There is also a purple/white stripe wire in the loom behind the panel that can be used as a remote live for the amp.

I used this method at first but got mixed results so went for a headunit upgrade to give me better control over the bass.

Thanks, that sounds like every thing I need is behind that panel, would you be able to give me a quick guide on how to remove it?
Basically any clues on how its held in place with regard to push clips or screws etc, I don’t just want to go pulling at things and risk damaging something.
Do you happen to have the wire colours for +’ve and –‘ve on the speaker wires, I don’t need a switched live as the amp will remote turn on when using speaker level inputs.
Thanks for your help. :D

I'm not sure with the coupe but with the roadster to remove the covers they were either stuck down with velcro or had plastic clips with screws through the middle where you need to hold the clip secure to unscrew the middle.

Cant remember the speaker wire colours of my head, blue/blue-grey and yellow/yellow-grey keeps springing to mind with the grey stripe cables being negative.

Ignore my post then, looks like theres alot more involved with the coupe.

ps. Genesis Profile Four Ultra  was thinking of getting the Profile Sub myself.

That's a nice sub, I was using the amp to power my Hertz HX300 sub and it did sound lovely.
