Hi people, I'm not a twitter/facebook person but could people please share/tweet re-post this outrageous problem I'm having with the ironically named 'Quote Me Happy Insurance Co'

I'm picking up my new just released Mini Cooper 5 door hatch next Tuesday, I tried to change details on line at Quote me Happy but the new model isn't listed so called them. They say they don't know when the new model will appear on their list so it will probably be two weeks before they can cover it - Full stop refused to do anything even when a manager was involved.

Great! So the news is that Quote Me Happy Insurance customers will be refused cover on their new Mini 5 door hatch until an unknown date in the future when QMH have heard of it and add it to their system!

My other half is with them, only because they were so cheap.

Reviews were bad for customer service but she won't be changing her car until her insurance renewal so it isn't a problem.

You should get 7 days free insurance through mini anyway so that'll be the 2 weeks nearly up by the time that ends.

What a state of affairs - you would think they'd be embarrassed by their lack of preparation - dreadful.

:driving:

I think this quite common with new cars, my wife's mini was the same last year, wasn't on LVs list for 2 weeks in the end they just insured it as a different model with a note on the system.
In 2003 i bought a brand new Harley Davidson fxdxt in the 10 year's I had it, it was never listed as it wasn't a common model

Yea I realise other companies sometimes don't have an exact model listed and they cover it as the closest equivalent with a note, but rather than saying "I'm sorry for this sir it's clearly not an acceptable situation I'll take it up with our team and come back to you with an a solution", the Quote Me Happy manager gave me the 'computer says no' line and helpfully suggested I get cover elsewhere or would have to SORN it until they got their list updated to remain legal! :headbang:

Lesson learnt - avoid Quote Me Happy!

Cheers guys, it seems this saga elevated to page 1 if you google QUOTE ME HAPPY MINI on a clean browser, so some more calls and the threat of more publicity got an apology and promise of a refund of my remaining policy and waiving the cancellation fee even though the 'computer still says no'.

I won't use Quote me happy again as Quote me happy don't have a customer service call centre or telephone number I had to use a hacked number published on the web 0843 320 9663. Lesson learnt, don't use Quote Me Happy

:P
