Bit of advice Mileage Discrepancy Z4M

I'm in the process of purchasing a Z4M. The seller has said the Car was HPI clear but I carried one out myself and it's come back with a mileage discrepancy.

I've sent the report to the seller to see if he can explain it.

The car looks really nice and the seller seems genuine but I'm unsure how to check the discrepancy. I'm mindful it could affect future resale.

There are 4 dates of concern

05/2/15
13/02/15
14/02/16
15/10/19 The biggest one by Manufactuer

What does Manufacturer mean in this instance, a servicing garage?

Well at first glance it seems if you ignored that reading then the mileage seems to tick up as expected.
Possibly something as simple as a service record being input with the incorrect mileage on it?
Although it shows up as an error, personally I would be happy that it looks like a one off, as the following readings seem back on track?
I would be more concerned if it carried on counting from that 40k figure.

Hadn't spotted the others.
But still, my theory holds that overall the car seems to accumulate miles at a steady rate.
Worth getting the details sorted now though, to go in the file as evidence for when you sell it on.

I've had this before, on my first E89 - a couple of calls to HPI and the record was amended to correct the obvious entry mistake.

I would be more concerned with asking the seller why he said it was HPI clear when it isn't. Either he knows it isn't clear and lied about it, or he genuinely though it was clear and wasn't aware of the mileage issue. I was guilty of option 2 with my 30i, bought from Sytner who told me that there was a minor HPI issue that they would have corrected, but it was flagged up a year later when I tried to sell it.

Or possibly the seller misunderstood the term HPI-clear and thought he was confirming he had no outstanding HP on it?
I'm sure if the seller is genuine then it is merely a minor hiccup waiting to be ironed out.

Thanks for the responses.

I spoke to the seller and he was surprised at the discrepancy and said it was wrong as the car hadn’t even gone into the dealer at that time.

He’s given me a printout of the BMW servicing and confirms that.

He called HPI and they said it was an error and would remove them.

I also called them to confirm and received an all clear revised HPI
