Bit of a scrub up

Gave her a proper once over today and a winter coating, started with autoglym polar blast snowfoam, have to say I find it a bit disappointing in terms of clinging to the car, need to find a new product there, then a wash with Williams car shampoo using the Farecla g3 clay mitt followed by another rinse, machine polish with Sonax 04 06, then a coat of Auto finesse triple.. Lovely product at a very reasonable price, wipes off easier than it goes on and it's easy enough to apply so thats a thumbs up from me, left a really nice shine on the car and I could have stopped there but with winter on the way I feel more comfortable with a traditional coat of wax on the car so on with the trusty collinite 476s.. Very happy with the final result DSB lends itself well to a bit of effort and the paintwork now has a lovely mirror finish.. light is pretty poor out there so you dont get the full effect on the pics but its looking well :)
The Armoury.. All the gear and a bit of an idea

Looking good.

I'd agree with you regarding the autoglym snow foam, I only bought it as I'd heard great things about snow foam and I like autoglym...but I can't see the benefit over a good soaking with a hose, then a jet wash before a mitt with a decent shampoo and rise off with the jet again. Is snowfoam a case of the emperor's new clothes or am I missing the point as I don't let my car get that dirty?

How long did you spend on the Z?
around 6 hours with a few short breaks
Nice one I would have seized up after two hours. I gave mine a quick wash and dried off using Autoglym aqua wax. Looks ok to me.

Looking good , that should leave the paint protected well into next year , but the spend doesn't end here :P
For a topping off detailer product that comes into its own through the wetter months try a bottle of PS Beadmaker 8) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/P-S-Bead-Maker-16oz-Paint-Protectant-by-Renny-Doyle/254378174450?epid=14034710592&hash=item3b3a1ee7f2:g:o4QAAOSwDnpdli5chttps://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-Pro/ps-bead-maker-review-best-last-step-product-ever/#:~:text=Bead%20Maker%20flashes%20away%20so,sealant%20we%20have%20ever%20used.

Absolute doddle to use (apply to every surface including glass ) & over well prepped paint leaves a finish that looks like you have spent all day but it takes 10 mins

Might give it a whirl at some point Andy, currently using Turtle Wax Hydrophobic Sealant after washes on the daily and very impressed with that but can leave a bit of smearing on the darker colours, switched to Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer and that works a treat on the zed, beads up beautifully

Stunning finish there Steve. You were lucky over there with the weather as it’s rained here most of the day.

Good job. I find it meditative almost when detailing the Z.
Not me.. its a necessary evil, dont mind quick detailing wash, wax and away, but these whole day jobs are hard on the body these days.. i do enjoy standing back with a beer though admiring my work :D
