How do you all clean this part of the roof which is covered when fully closed.

Do you open the roof slightly to reduce tension or with roof fully open.

PS I bet I am not the only one who has neglected this.

Don't feel badly about this. There are legions that are slobs on this forum. Take a sponge, some mildly soapy water and wash like it was a baby's butt. Rinse. Oh yeah, don't do this in full sunlight.

Looks to me like part of the roof material that gets hidden when the top is up. It traps dirt and debris until it is cleaned. It this case it suffered from neglect.

20ducks you are correct in both respects, although I feel a little hard with the latter.

All I can say is if Takedown8 is asking where this is, then he's isnt going to be any better. :poke:

I use a new good qualtity paint brush as my shoe brush i use for dusting the roof is a little big and can cause marks on the paint work.

Like my thread the other week http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=5635&p=82119#p82119

Too many dirt traps for such a well designed car...

 That's not necessarily true 'cause I have a detailer take care of my car every 6 months. I guess this can be a good test to see how thorough he is!

I've seen some good detailers and some mediocre detailers. Sometimes it does help him(them) by pointing things out. Standards are not standard.

How right you are! As good as he is, I still think that I do a better job. Probably because it is my car after all, so I tend to put more into it. He does do a pretty damned good job though. Wish I had the time to do it myself.

You'd be surprised how many "detailers" I called who feel it's not important to clay the car. Craziness.
