Birdy s**t

Well damn great sea gulls to be more precise, i collected my car from the sunny seaside town of Weymouth just after new year and while i was taking a butchers with a view to buying i noticed about 12 small dull patches on the in the paintwork mostly around the boot area. the nice man i was buying from (private sale by the way) told me he had not had time to polish the birdy poo marks out, so me being a nice guy said not to worry i would do it myself as the car needed a good waxing anyway.
Well 4 months down the road the bloody things are still there, not from me being a lazy git just the fact that the birdy poo seems to have removed the surface of lacquer :headbang: . No amount of polishing seems to last more than a week, and then the marks re_appear.
So i was hoping some of you perfectionist/detailers might point me in the right direction for a non too expensive fix.

It sounds repairable as it disappears after waxing / polishing. If it was edged, a polish / wax would not touch it at all.

Machine polish would be the first step by a detailor really.

I reckon that it should machine polish out, I had a couple of large patches on my bonnet but they polished out fine

Had some pretty good results with this stuff :)

Last time I used T-Cut was about 30 years ago - it was shite then.

This stuff appears to be slightly gentler but did a good job in pretty much erasing bird shite marks (and slight scratches) from the wife's Mokka

Once bird s**t has took hold its very difficult to get the paintwork back to original, if at all.

On another note, here's a pic of bird s**t on my wheel. I thought I'd wiped it all off in the dark but next day I saw more. How the hell did it manage to get in a wheel nut hole :o

Whereabouts are you Kamikaze Trooper,if you are local to me i may be able to help.

Had the same problem a couple of years back with a white Zed and took it back to the dealers and kicked up a fuss about the paint on a car costing £35K should not be damaged by bird s***t. After a lot of letters to the dealership and copying in BMW UK managed to get the bonnet resprayed. Worth a go?

Some sh1t seems to really eat into the paint of bmws. I'm having to get the rear bumper touched up from a poop that I left on the car for a few days last year. Not my fault I might add, I was away. I'm now paranoid about the stuff. As soon as I notice, it's washed off. Just bought a cover to put on the car when it's left standing. Oh and an air gun to teach the little buggers!
