no, definitely not a myth, some some bird crap etched through the top layers of my paint in under 24 hours on my previous car :thumbsdown:

not only paintwork - it can bleach a fabric roof if left on too long. Some people carry specialist bird poo wipes in the car, I use sensitive baby wipes. Seems to work (and doesn't upset the delicate paintwork )
