Bird Strike!

Reminds me of my small but frustrating experience this summer in Kylesku, Scotland. After clocking up a few hundred miles getting there and around the locality, I spotted something in the lower grille of my C Class Merc. On closer examination it was a small bird, a sparrow or thrush type size that had unfortunately flown straight into the car.

After trying to gently remove the bird it would seem that it's head had gone through one of the diamond shaped holes in the grille. On trying harder to remove it, it would seem that the heads of birds, come off quite easily.... :o

I then had to poke the remaining head out of the grille and I never actually found it under the bonnet. I just hope that it has come out over the last few miles.

Loud and messy M5 outside lane pigeon strike in the Mini, it hit the screen in front of my eye line and I nearly made it to the footwell!

Speed can force very big things into very small places.... :?

When I worked in the desert in Middle East for BP many years ago we used to see people killed hitting camels (camel killed also) and the camel was squashed and killed and compacted inside the 4x4 on the back seat.... A regular accident. An utter mess.
