Bird Strike!

Holly Shizzler! First time this has happened to me.

Making quick progress down a dual carriage today I see something fly in from the right and then BANG! Glancing blow to the top left hand corner of the windscreen.

No damage except to my underpants. Lucky it was a small black thing and not a seagul.

Duck!

Thankfully it hit the windscreen. Bird strike at kidney grill could equal breakage

How about this - an Alpina forum member has had a pheasant through the kidney grilles of his B3S saloon. Wrecked the grilles, radiator cowls and bonnet, and damaged his bumper. Blood and sh1t everywhere under the bonnet. :x Mega insurance claim for a bloody bird!

Good to here no damage done. I hit a phesant once,driving a hire car. Only damaged the number plate. Boss at work turned up one day with a seagull sticking out the roof rack on his X5. Was realy quite funny, (maybe not for the Gull). He didn't even know it was there untill the guy on the gate pointed it out.

Pigeon done mine, the blood and feathers made a right mess.

I've had three strikes so far this year, 2 x pigeons (I like the way they eject all their feathers on impact ) and 1 x blackbird, all in the early morning in the dark. Can they see fast moving black cars?

I once had a pheasant strike at 90mph on a bike.Luckily it was a glancing blow ( I instinctively ducked) or else I could've been it deep doo doo.

Hit a pheasant doing 80-odd on the M4 last year - in the old car not the Zed thank goodness - shattered the windscreen and broke the wing mirror clean off

That was a bloody quick pheasant...

I was very close to hitting a pheasant on my mountain-bike at the weekend. Not sure who scared the crap out of the other more: me or the pheasant.
