Some of you may be aware of this additional aspect to the water pooling problem, however it was a surprise to.me. I had to repeat this a number of times before all the water was removed.

Good spot . I was not aware that the water also collected under the seal so I will be doing this from now as an extra precaution .

Thanks for that, though I suppose if/when it rusts you could probably man maths your way to a carbon replacement!

Hi, I had a look at ours yesterday (which sits outside in all Scottish weathers) and I can't do this. The rubber seal is under the glass, and there's not enough sticking out for me to lift it.

Thanks for the clarification!!! I guess you guys don't have to worry about relocating roof motors so that all makes things equal!!! :D

Thanks for that - I'll be taking a look tomorrow! :o

That's strange. Be interesting to here how others get on.

:o I'm washing mine later, so...

Do you think that in the case of the guy in the video his seal has gone bad? I'm wondering if the additional water ingress is because the seal has aged.

To answer your question, my seal seems in great condition and you have to get your finger nail under it to lift, so it's tight to the glass.

[ref]Benderloch[/ref], thanks - didn't realise that it was you and your car in the video :)

Mine was very reluctant to lift and only a tiny bit of water came out, even after pressure washing. If corrosion isn't visible, I don't think that it's worth messing with the seal but that's just my opinion.
