My friend will be there. But sadly, not me. I'll be home in Louisiana. I'm real real tempted to let leave slip a week so I can go to this.

I'm going. Are we planning on meeting early and parking all together again? I think I'll be sporting bimmerforums paraphernalia.... so if you'd rather park away from me I understand.

z4dsun,

Thats the plan anyway.

I don't know it may be to hot. :P

NOT

Meeting with some people this Sunday and see if we can get a plan on times. I want to be there early. I'm tring to get early entry so we can start a line. I'm going to sporting ZSCCA so you sporting you forum is no problem to me. :tumbleweed:

Any update Bob? Should we sign out on the website? What should we expect from Bimmerfest? :tumbleweed:

I would not worry about signing up on the website. That is more or less for the group dinner and IMHO I was thinking of having dinner on the way back as to get away from the huge group of people. You know , wait for 1.5 hours to order, then wait to be served.

My plan is:

The gates open at 9:00. It takes 2.5 hours to get there and picking up people on the way will take a bit of time.

I would like to be on the road by 6:00 AM. I will be at the Starbucks where we met last time at 5:30 and leave at 6:00.

Depending on who is joining the caravan will determine what route we take to get to the 101 freeway.

Arrive at Bimmerfest and park.

What to expect at bimmerfest:

Lots of police on the way up. Lots of BMW's detailed to the hilt. Confused people telling us where to park.

Really there will be two gates for entry. We will come in from a different direction than the freeway, thats a mad house. The food at bimmerfest is scattered around the grounds, for lunch or bring a cooler. There will be lots of cars and people. Vendors of parts and services will be the rule of the day. People walking around looking and talking ( my Favorite ) about anything and everything. There is very little shade on the show grounds other than in the buildings with the vendors. Bring sunscreen and hats, maybe a light long sleve shirt to keep the sun off. If you can fit a chair in to be able to sit somewhere other than the ground would be a plus. Bring frs radios if you have them and be ready for a day of cars. We tend to get split up during the day and use the radios to keep in touch. We can set a time to re-group and head back and stop for dinner and some chat about the day. I'm sure some people will spend the night in Santa Barbara. There is no hard fast rules and people are welcome to do as they please.

If Kathy can get away, we will probably go up for a little while, then cruise around Santa Barbara taking in all the treasures that we can get.. :driving:

Yeah, not a whole lot to do a Bimmerfest other than look at cars and talk. This is just one of the big draws to get Nor Cal people to come down this way. I don't get much of a chance to talk to them face to face. I you do come, we can play soft top in stero for the group.

I will not be able to make this event either! Jeez! Just too much going on! I'm going to have to start prioritizing better!
I'll be thinking about you guys while I'm at the Avril Lavigne concert with my daughter...I couldn't pass it up...my wife's work has a suite at the Honda Center and it's my daughter's favorite singer! :(

Just what are you tring to say. You have a live that does not revolve around your Z? CAZ4 I just post events that I will be attending. When ever you have time join in.

Looks like we will have about 8 Z's in the SoCalZ's caravan to Santa Barbara this year. The weather is going to be nice this year, unlike last year, 90 degrees. Weather should be in th mid 70's. Perfect in my mind. Lite jacket for in the morning and a coat of sunscreen for the mid day. I also require a hat to cover my solar panel. The meet points is in Orange and in Glendale then just before the fairgrounds. I went through the inside and gave it a detail yesterday and the outside is planned for tomorrow. Then drive it to Santa Barbara ( 125 miles) and a quick QD sesion and I'm done.

On our way back home I finally found out why IMZ4N changes his tires every 15K miles... I also learned how brakes smell when they get hot... But, DANG THAT WAS FUN!!!!! I knew Z4s were great machines, but never knew this much. Thanks BMW!!!!!
Btw, IMZ4N I noticed last nice when you left that one of your license plate lights is not working....

Thank you for the heads up on the light. I don't see that end of the car much.
