Bimmercode ??

Just looking into getting the bimmercode app, to do some coding on my new steed.

Sound upgrade etc etc...

I use an android phone.
Ive looked at the bimmercode site , and there seems to be lot of interface adapters...

Anybody have a recommendation as to which to go for.??

Thanks Dave.

Just get a wired ethernet connection to your phone rather than BT connection, the last thing you want is BT to drop for some reason whilst coding.
Have an iphone, so not sure which Android one to recommend.

I have Carly. I think you can do a lot more with binmercode.

What are you looking to code in?

More likely you'll get errors using the cable, it can be damaged from bending, get caught on something, fall out of the port.
BT connection doesn't break by itself all you have to do is stay in range, which is about 20m I believe :)

I use the OBDLink CX Bluetooth (my friend on android and me on iPhone) and it works great on both, I haven't had any issues with it.

Had BT drop connection on various devices, connected properly to the port it will never fall out and quite how you would damage a cable badly enough to cause a connection failure during use escapes me.
Only plausible scenario is "tugging" the lightning connector to the phone out, though the phone itself would need to be secured before the cable could be pulled out accidentally. My phone came out of my quadlock holder whilst "making good progress" on my bike and it stayed connected to the charging wire, dangling upside down, until I found a safe place to pull over and rectify it.
In the dozen or so times I've used Bimmercode so far none of the above scenarios have looked remotely possible.

Have any of you done any coding on the G29 with BimmerCode? I used it on my F57 2019 MINI Cooper S convertible with excellent results but have no experience on the G29.

I use this adapter

Vgate iCar Pro Bluetooth 4.0... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B085Y5BBXX?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

£23.60

Works perfectly with BimmerLink and bimmercode

Did the cioding to bring up better sound in the stereo, can't remember offhand but maybe the menu for the Bilstein?

Perhaps Bowers and Wilkins?

That's the chappie, knew it started with a B. Yes, I was at the pub yesterday.

Just to update this thread, i got myself a bimmercode device, and coded the B+W sound, and sorted the start stop ..
The B+W sound upgrade is a way better than the previous settings, well worth doing.

So I’m going to invest in bimmercode as a Xmas present for myself.

Adapters I see the links on this thread, but is bimmercode available for iPhone?

Yes, it's available. I coded your car using bimmercode on my iphone, don't you remember? :poke: :poke:

I ordered this scanner JUTA VLINKER MC+ Bluetooth OBD2 Can’t wait to have start in sport mode working. ;)

Apparently not all adapters allow you to code certain features, but the one I ordered should be good.
I’ll try the sound upgrade and making sure it stays in sport more on startup.
