Bilstein B4

I’m struggling to find a new set of Bilstein B4 shock absorbers for my Z4. Does anyone know of a reliable supplier who has current stock? So far they seem scarce and on back order.

 I had a previous bad experience with autodoc. Maybe I will give them another go. Many thanks.

Never had issues apart from the two week shipping time!!!

Plus on the app today they are 38% off

Got some recently from Autodoc for £180. Took a week to arrive. Made a lot of difference as the old shocks were completely dead.

I got mine from autodoc too last week. However their packaging leaves a lot to be said. The shocks has burst through their box and the autodoc box. They should have wrapped the original box with some bubble wrap or something. luckily no real damage.

That’s really unusual, never had any issues with the quality of packing from AutoDoc? I’m wondering if the courier has dropped the ball… or in this case the box, and thrown it around carelessly or something.

The shocks aren't light. The circular bits are also quite sharp. It wouldn't take much for them to burst through thin cardboard. Both had burst through their Holstein boxes so the manufacturer packaging is inadequate IMO. Also autodoc boxes are very flimsy for the weight of this kind of package too.

Reinforcement should have definitely been used. They used brown paper in the box which was only at one side so did nothing. They burst through 2 boxes. I should really make a complaint I did take pics of both. I'll send them an email later. I have just ordered another £200 worth of parts off them. Probably spent around £600 with them over the last 2 weeks. Had around 4 seperate orders but the shocks were far heavier and more dangerous in terms of damage than anything else.

You would think some common sense would be used to make sure they arrive okay. They aren't cheap neither. Penny pinching or poor training or inadequate staff who knows.

I always make sure I secure anything I send away so it doesn't get damaged. I tend to over do it. But I don't care I know how some companies have irresponsible handlers.

I have always found DPD to be the best because it's a franchise model. It's in the person's interest to make sure all packages are okay and also they tend to be a lot smarter because technically they are a businessman and self employed rather than an employee working for buttons.

I have another large autodoc order on its way. Rear discs, handbrake shoes, brake fluid, oil filter, air and pollen filter. A few other bits and bobs too. I have spent circa £2k+ on the car in the past 2 weeks. It's had a number of issues happen after being stranded for the last 2 years due to electric power steering fail.
