Bilstein B4 Query

I understand the B4's are the OEM replacement of the factory shocks but for the standard suspension as opposed to the M sport suspension

My research suggests it is ok to use them with a lower spring of upto 40mm which means it fine with M Sport springs (or suplex equivalent)

My question is for the fronts (using M Sport springs), should I use the M sport bump stops M sport bumpstop 103962.jpg

or the SE bumpstops SE bumpstop 21111.jpg

or does it matter ?
 
I reused my original bump stops, which I assume are the sport ones (I had sport suspension fitted as standard). I would personally go for the sport bumps tops if you plan on fitting sport or lowering springs to the B4's.
 
Can B4's definitely be used safely with the Eibach lowering springs without any issues to ride quality or performance, I thought it was either B6 or B8.

I'm talking for an every day road user who has no interest in track driving.
 
If you are lowering to a normal extent they will be fine. If you are lowering further it doesn't matter as your ride will be shite anyway.

I have Eibachs and B4's and drive mine everyday :thumbsup: No issues with ride quality. Yes it's firm, but no firmer than my old Fiesta ST180.

Someone in here done some research and found out that you can use up to 40mm lowering springs with Bilstein B4 shocks. Eibachs are no where near that low anyway.
 
If you’re considering going lower, go with a tried and trusted combination and don’t cut corners.... if you’re happy to say standard height, stay standard spec

Focus more on the quality and intended function of the shocks than the height of the springs since they control how the springs function. It’s easy to say B4s work with lowering springs, but the question is how effectively, and for how long?

I had Bil B6 and eibach on a (non z) BMW and it felt too soft to me so I ditched them for coilovers and I’ve had coilovers in every car since then.

Obviously, ‘feel’ is a factor that is incredibly subjective. My suggestion would be for you to join some ‘group meets’ and see what real world setups people have and experience them yourself in order to take some of the subjective guesswork out of the situation
 
Mine have held up perfectly fine in the 7000 miles I've done since fitting them 8) it's a road car, not a track car. I drive it to work and back and have the odd B road blast at the weekend.
