Bilstein b4 pro kit

Just spied this kit on eBay, sounds like a cheaper alternative to the b12 kit, assuming the shocks are matched to the eibachs but thought the b4 was only for the non lowered suspension?? Anyone running this kit?
Thanks

Yes! Car's a Z4c 2007. Bought seperatly though, not as kit. No issues so far! Rides fine, ride heights nice, not crashy. Got a track day at weekend, will see how it goes! Also changed all top mounts and droplinks with them.

Cool. I'm reading on ither bmw forums that there are 2 versions of the b4, one for standard ride height and one for msport or lower, did you encounter this when buying?
Thanks

Nope there is only one type of B4 shock and the shock is suited to OEM springs or lowering springs :)

B4 and B6 are standard height, B8 are shorter (although B6 can be shortened). B6 and B8 are monotube construction, B4 is twintube. B4 is more of an OEM replacement, B6 and B8 and more advanced options over OEM (usually)

Loads of details here, here and on the Bilstein site

I'm in coupe too so useful feedback. Have you found body control has improved? Mine seems to wallow a bit in the corners...
Cheers

Cheers for that kammy. Yep the pound is pretty weak at the mo so might hold off, want to sort tge exhaust first anyway I think

Apologies for the hijack! Noticed a few comments in reference to the couple, assuming these would be fine for the roadster too? Cars on 80k now so springs and dampers are on my list having just done the wishbones, drop links and tie rods. Was looking at the B12 kit but these B4's seem to be a lot cheaper? Car is a 3.0si SE, and I'd be looking for near OEM replacement, maybe with a drop in ride height similar to the M-Sport set up.

They are better than OE shocks (certainly no worse and way better than tired ones). Springs are 15mm lower than M-sport.

There are kits for the E85 as well as E86 (and also the E89). As mentioned above the B4 are replacements for OEM and will allow for some lowering, depending on the springs chosen - you may want to look at kits such as this. If you are refreshing your shocks, you should probably look also at top mounts?

Thanks for that, saw your reply with the links to the Bilstein website too which I missed the first time, those are pretty helpful. Top mounts I'd be doing at the same time as this, along with the rear bushes and front ARB bushes. I wouldn't be looking to go much lower than standard, I believe the SE is slightly higher as standard? So probably just a match to the M-Sport suspension would be ideal or as mentioned above 15mm lower than that would be fine.
