I used this Thule Outway on my 2016 M235 Cab and it did what I needed it for. I haven't got one for my G29 yet

Always worry about the weight on the boot lid……and scratches.

That's valid and I think two bikes would be too much on trunk lid

I do have a Saris Bones 3 (for 3 bikes, Bones 2 was for 2 bikes), I used it a couple of times on my previous e89.
White it is build for 3 bikes, I think I could only fit 1 bike (MTB) at the end of the support. Otherwise the bike came to close to the car.
No matter how tight you pull the straps, the hooks on the straps still slip. After riding for 1 km, I stop to tighten the straps again, and then they don’t slip anymore. The metal hooks do have a thick rubber-like protective covering, but I’m not sure if I dare use them on the Frozen Grey G29 today. But I think my bike now enters in the trunk if I remove the wheels.
I don’t even know if they’ll still fit on the G29 today. should test them this afternoon.

The Saris Bones has been replaced by the Bones EX Bike Trunk Rack
