I sent my postal vote on Thursday. Now just hope we will have a new government from Friday.

Talking down the pub last night - I'm not sure how badly Labour have come out of this. The general opinion was that it shows he's only human like the rest of us and the woman was talking the usual bigoted twaddle that has now become accepted "fact". That was with a group of people who a week ago were saying they weren’t bothering to vote!

The free for all policy of the NHS is not one that I'd vote for. It is wrong that economic migrants come into this country where we have been paying taxes all our lives and get the same level of service.

I'm not opposed to economic migrants coming though - especially when it corrects the imbalance that existed in the semi-skilled workforce of the early 2000s.

I earn well above the national average salary but it somehow felt wrong that if I wanted a bricky, plasterer or sparky back then - I would pay more for their services than I was earning. The Poles saved us by bringing reasonable balance into the workplace again.

Brown came across as duplicitous as best but not more than most of us would be in the same situation.

I agree with most of what you say. However, what worries me is that because he couldnt keep his hands out of the pensions pot most of us are likely to be working till we drop. Its a matter of time before i lose my final salary pension scheme which is now closed to new starts, it is also likely that the retirement age is going to go up due to fact that there is no money left in the pot. Gordon Brown and the recession have done alot of damage to these funds, most of the money has been thrown at the welfare state.

I have concerns that my community is being overrun by eastern europeans, I am not racist at all but i think european immigration needs to be controlled better which is something that our government is now powerless to control thanks to signing us in to europe and giving them control. We should remember that Gordon Brown promised a vote on the Lisbon Treaty but changed his mind at the last minute and signed it without our conscent.

I'm in the same boat re working until I drop and my FSPS is the same too. I'm not sure how much of this could have been avoided and I too prefer not to think of myself as a raciast but my biggest gripe is my tax going into public funds which get drawn on by those who don't contribute at all. The word that comes to mind is abuse!

My wife recruited an accountant - as it happens from overseas. He was the best quallified and appeared most capable to do the the job. He does the job as well as the next man and pays his tax. His mother comes to visit him from overseas and uses the NHS as if it is an overseas private clinic. She has costly treatment and pays nothing. How can that be right?
