Biggest possible fill up?

What is the most number of litres you can get into the Zed at the pumps? I was down to 11 miles on the OBC and could only get 49.14 litres into the tank @ £66.78. Is it possible to get more than this?

I have spent over £70 filling mine up one or two times - and that was just ordinary 95 RON, so lowest price... Insofar as there is a lowest price nowadays

Never checked how much went in, but isn't the tank about 55 litres ?

I've never managed to get more than 50l in either, even when empty on the gauge and 0 miles on the computer :o.

BMW will never let you run out of petrol according to one of my mates - once it is at ---- you'll still have a reserve in there to get your terrified ass to a petrol station :D

Agree. I'm regularly down to single digits but the very most I've crammed in is 52l. Probably not a bad thing as opposed to dredging up all the crap at the bottom of the tank.

Not so on X5s where we have had a couple of members running out of fuel even though the OBD still had a reading for miles left.

A colleague had the same on his old E90.

now thats something i have always worried about , how far you can let petrol go down to , 15 miles left is the bravest i have been, now i feel abit of an idiot :headbang:

I wouldn't let it run lower than about 20 if you can help it, I did it once and the car fired out a few warning lights

had mine to ---- a few times. The most I've managed to get in is 52l. Nice to have a small buffer.

I didn't say I trust him :D

However, there must be a reserve - if you get to within a few miles of 0 range but you can't put 55 litres in then logic says it's there. TBH, I don't let's it get below about 20 miles range.

Mine was at -- last weekend (don't normally take it that low) - only needed 50 litres to fill up, so I'm assuming there are 5 litres left in the tank when it gets to --.

I have heard... That you can block the drain-holes under the roofmotor.
It should provide 15-20 liters of extra!

Should get about 25 miles on --- but it does say in the instruction manual that it can damage the engine
