Big ask.

Hello,

I know it's a big ask but I was wondering, before I start traveling around the country to find a Z4mr if someone local could show me around theirs.
Maybe take me for a drive so I have a comparison and know what to expect.

I'm close to Chelmsford in Essex.

Because sometimes less is more...it depends what his usage will be-for mainly commuting the si could be a better option with its lower running costs with servicing/fuel & a still potent 265bhp engine

Thanks for the reply, it's a weekend toy so just looking for an M really.

i purchased a Tvr a while back without using my brain or seeing more then one car, as you can imagine I got stung a little. It would be nice to have a feel before going hunting on auto trader.

If you'd have asked a few weeks ago I would have obliged. I live in Chelmsford, but I have just tucked my Z4MR in the garage for the winter and sorned it. It'll be back out again in March if you're still looking around then..

Phil

I'm in Sudbury if that's not too far, but car is on Sorn from Saturday Oct 1st so it would be a rush but can do something late afternoon if that helps.

Winter? What winter? Forecast to be 20+ degrees next week.
Last year the gritters didn't come out till December, will be using my toys right up until they came out.

In any case it's better for the car if you keep using it.

I have always thought about tucking up my weekend toy but never have. If the weather is dry a Christmas Day drive with the roof off is great.

Well I bought it this time last year and my insurance was due for renewal. Its a weekend toy and I agree I would like to take it out on the odd nice weekend that we sometimes get through the winter, but it helps balance my man maths with the ownership costs to save ~£500 on tax an insurance until March.

Not sure I agree with the comment about it beng good for the car to keep it going. On balance I think the additional wear and tear from the salted roads during this time is worse for it than the minor issues that can occur during storage. I stored my old Boxster for the same period and the only issue I ever had was a bit of surface rust on the brake discs, which went within 5 mins of driving.

No problems, hope it was useful and gave you an idea of what to look out for and how they should perform.

You have my number if you need to ask anything else :)
