The solenoid/ activator in my Bi Xenon headlight has failed. Can it be replaced instead of the whole projector? (2007 Z4)

Yes, had to do mine a few months ago. It is meant to be possible to do it through the inspection opening in the wheel arch, but I took the whole headlight out as I wasn't sure what was wrong. Make sure its for Xenon lights as some are incorrectly listed when I was looking. s-l1600.webp

The xenon headlights on mine are the worst designed headlights of the 8 automobiles I have owned. There is water intrusion/condensation no matter what you do. I've had water make its way into the headlight ballast, shorting it out. I guess the solenoid is the only part I haven't replaced.
