Well at least you'd done it twice before the door opened Bing! :D

I do agree with Carol though, what's next to this kind of behaviour? Look at what we had here in Holland recently, the supposed facebook party that got totally out of control. Seems things can't get silly enough

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2206919/Riot-Facebook-party-attended-thousands.html

I also see Carol's point - there is a line and it appears to be crossed buch more easily and frequently than in my distant youth... Though technology today doesn't help at all.

There has always been this kind of behaviour! Since the dawn of alcohol! In every generation, its just more socially acceptable now, or that the it has moved to a different area of society.

Look at prince harry in las Vegas... TBH when I saw it I thought... LAD! Having fun and why not! So what if hes Royalty does that mean he cant experience things everyone else can!? Really bs the crap he got with it! Yes he embarrassed the Royal family but IMO it just made everyone realise he is human too.

Its all a learning curve and we have all done it! and if you haven't then I kind of feel slightly sorry for you! TBH you have to be a bit of a exhibitionist to be having sex in a street publicly. I dont think this happens in the public view often but im sure it happens a lot where its not so obvious and lets be fair... Always fun with the thought of being caught!

I mean come on, in America in the 50s it was make out point... dogging or shagging in the back of cars with multiple cars all parked up... maybe not in full view but this is nothing new!

The fact is most young people meet on a night out, drink too much... goggles come out and things happen... Think because it is more acceptable in the view of that age gap (students) aka going out pulling and having a one night stand, people pull a blind eye. Especially at 2-3am through the week there isnt anyone else there but other students! More likely to hear GO ON SON!!! rather than OMG THATS GRIM!

Im not saying its right, neither would it be my thing but just trying to explain why I suppose its more acceptable than it once was. Uni is full of intelligent people, alcohol makes the most quiet and intelligent people absolute animals! IMO its good for them helps them get out of their shells a little. To say that anyone can go to Uni is just plain wrong the boundaries are very strict on entry and the highest grades are needed. The work is hard and I suppose this is hair down time. One of my friends got 3 As and wanted to do biomedical research and got rejected had to wait a year and reapply.

When you are paying 9k a year then another 3k for housing and living so 12k!! over three years 36k!!! Most come out with a good degree, you cant afford not to. Need to start paying it back. So the old wife's tale of 'Oh yea anyone can go and most come out with a crap degree and its just a massive party' Is complete BS, everyone I knew doing my 's**t worthless media degree' as some have described worked extremely hard and got exactly what they needed to progress in their career.

I did exactly that and got a good job and GUESS WHAT!! Bought a dream car at 23... and looking to the next step in my career So for people to say all these degrees are worthless can do one, you sound like a complete ASS!

Agree with most of that - except perhaps about the very strict entry requirements lol. There were a fair few people on my degree who seemed to just be there for a party, needless to say they didn't survive the first year... but then Mechanical Engineering isn't really a party hard subject lol

I'd agree degrees are not worthless, but they are imo devalued because an increasing number of people have them.

Well when I went to Uni it wasnt over subscribed like it is now. Simply because no one is offering apprenticeships so Uni is being used as a stop gap because why struggle when you can go to Uni I suppose.

To put it into perspective my cousin is an 18 year old intelligent girl with 10 GCSEs and 4 A levels all A-B. She wanted a job to support herself at the weekend and during Uni. She applied everywhere, and even McDonalds rejected her. Now if you cant even get a job at Mcy D's with those qualifications there is something seriously wrong. Dont know if its because she was over qualified but I think thats pretty crap. Same with supermarkets they look for young people out of Uni with degree to work the basic of basic jobs like shelf stacking. Nothing wrong with that at all when I was at uni I did exactly the same to support myself but when you come out of Uni and thats what they expect its a pretty piss poor situation.

There are always the people that drop out, and some go and Uni really isnt for them, but the ones that make it to third year do work hard. I agree with the devalued qualification because the next logical step for most is Uni so there are more people with degrees but it also means it sorts the men from the boys so to speak. Naturally talented people get the jobs always has been the same, but there are a lot of good talented people.

Being from Cardiff and knowing what a damn good night out it is and generally is very good mannered, I dont see any problem with this story or why their parents should be ashamed. The DM always bashes students out on the lash. Our parents probably did it too but didnt have the internet and digital cameras on everything to spread the photos.

So what if they go out and get drunk, they will spend the next x number of years studying, running up HUGE debt, without promise of a job at the end of it, so if they want to blow off a little steam then let them. Cardiff is renowned for a friendly fun night out and usually there is very little trouble, so I say to these students good on them!!

....and from the article ...'The Carnage UK organisers have repeatedly come under fire for hosting the events, which promote excessive binge drinking as students are encouraged to go from one bar to the next to consume copious amounts of beverage.' Sounds just like when I was at Uni (and that a few years ago!

I don't think anyone is disputing that uni students should enjoy themselves and of course that includes getting pissed because that's a big part of uni social life and good on them. They should have a good time while they are young and they can do without any responsibilities.

Students apart, forget the original article which, as I've said maybe I posted the wrong example of what I am talking about, I'm talking about the drink culture in this country. Not drinking and getting drunk per se but what some people think it's ok to do when they're drunk.

Dogging, toilet sex etc, whatever, I don't care what they're doing as long as nobody is getting hurt and it consensual, whatever floats your boat as long as its not on our streets, churchyards or wherever else is in plain public view. I know this mostly happens at night but there is still a chance that kids might be there, passing by in a car, looking out of a bedroom window.

Ok if it's 2 in the morning the chances of kids being about are minimal but I might be about and I don't want to see two pissed up people shagging in a shop doorway. It's not ok under any circumstances.
Imagine if it was your sister, daughter etc

Urgh, this whole "dont let the kiddies see" stuff really makes me sick. Protect the kids, hide anything to do with sex from kids. Blah blah blah. Its because of this attitude in the UK we have such a high teen pregancy rate (that and benefits).

Love it when parents and others say "must protect the kids", then let them go home and watch TV until late, and play on their Call of Duty 18 certificate games which the parents bought them.

So what if kids see someone having a bonk? If they are young kids then they probably wont even understand what they just saw, and if they are teens they are probably (a) up to it already (b) downloading the stuff off the internet be it on their laptop, computer, phone, tablet, whatever. The more taboo a subject is the more kids do it. i.e. dont drink, dont smoke, dont do drugs, dont have sex, dont watch X Factor.

I admit, I had sex in a graveyard when i was a teen, went out with a lass who had a strange obsession with it, and dare I say, being in a public place was kinda exciting. Still is today for many people. Go around some European countries and many have a very open and mature attitude to sex, but in the UK its oh no, stiff upper lip what not and protect the kids (even if its 2am in the morning when 12 year old billy and his gang are out breaking into cars and smoking ciggies).

I'm not saying what is right and wrong but i'd much rather see two people (drunk or not) making than two people beating the sh1t out of each other on the streets!

There are many problems the drinking culture in the UK creates, violence, illness, addiction, etc. but personally, seeing people out drunk having a good time allbeit having a bit of howsyourfather in a doorway somewhere at 2am doesnt really bother me. At least they are happy :)

Remember !! Make love not war people :)

Edit - journalists criticising people on the lash. The pot calling the kettle black I think :poke:

Exactly, Now they arn't allowed to hack peoples private lives looks like they are struggling to get anything juicy, so lets start slagging people off for doing exactly what we did when we were students.

8 years in the Royal Navy I did my fair share drinking and doorstep antics, I have slept in phone boxes, flower beds, park benches, and even the boot of a MkI ford escort, woken up on many an occasion wondering where the hell I am what the hell I had got up to.

how people enjoy themselves is not for me to judge, everyone is different

i just wish i was young again hehe

and as for how you bring your kids up, well you can only try your best, some of the best parents in the world will fail, but then some of the worst will succeed

Well, I'm both outraged and disgusted.

The orange peel on those wee lassies arses is worse than a BMW paint job.

Do you have children yourself?

Looks pretty tame. We had Freshers' Fortnight that included a pub crawl called "Vom" which came with some pretty imaginative public forfeits...helped us all learn (each other's) anatomy from day one I suppose :P

I used to rely on the old Beer Teleport to get me home or somewhere better
