is it just me....or is the tuning scene in the US bigger than here
obv im not exactly helping the uk out seeing as ive not changed my car at all
but the *ahem* american z4 forum seems awash with threads about ppl modding cars?
obv the us has more ppl etcetc, just an observation...

110% accurate..... i love the scene on zpost..... made some good friends to which i talk reguarly on face time.... great people.

Fitted a Gruppe M last night. Took about an hour all up and is a very, very tidy design. Sounds absolutely awesome and i couldnt be happier. I was going to buy the cheaper Afe version but found the Gruppe cheap from an aussie website "xposed" that shipped direct from Gruppe Japan to my door

Only complaint is the instructions which were ingrish at its worst. I managed to make sense of it though and I'm no genius! Link to the site below if anyone needs it

The Alpinas seem to have a different induction box again. But as their engines are already a hybrid from the BMW parts bin, plus their own, I think it's best left alone. It already makes a great noise!

Tapatalking...

The Gruppe M from the Xposed website link is AU$931/£612, which seems excellent.

However, don't forget to add on 20% VAT and 1.7%+ duty - so you're looking at about £760 (plus postage/insurance) to your door (same rate whether it comes from Australia or Japan).

CA-Automotive sell it for about £980.

I got my Gruppe M from CA Automotive and they beat the best price I could find elsewhere at that time so it may be worthwhile contacting Roy or Phil there and seeing what they can do.

Personally I think the Gruppe M makes a fantastic noise and I've not noticed any drop in power since I installed it....

Hi, sorry for not getting back sooner, I got my Carbon airbox from CA Technologies Ltd. However at the time (before the stage 3 head) I got some enlarge throttle bodies and schrick CSL spec cams and a live map to get the best out of that airflow combination. I can honestly say the induction noise is amazing.

Also ESS are very very! good superchargers and would love that extreme power, lol but I’m a die-hard naturally aspirated man, lol.

Jeremy Clarkson done a video a few years back on his best car noises… the M3 CSL with that induction noise is in the top 10 , LOL.

Sweetride, I do see what your saying but with all respect i think your agressive approach gets people's backs up....

So you feel that my saying "Actually this is incorrect" is being aggressive on a public forum? Thx for your tip, but facts are facts and I was merely stating such. This isn't my first pony ride

So am i correct in saying that you have some CSL spec cams laying around? Did you see any gains with those alone? Worth it on an otherwise stock car? Cams is something i've been thinking about on and off for a while now.

Yes, Roy at CA is holding onto them for me. I've asked him to sell them for me. Yes they gave about 10-15bhp approx with a map. However they made the engine pull stronger after 5K revs, also the engine sounded angrier after 5K if that makes sense. When I had the Stage 3 head with larger inlets I went for some more aggressive stage 3 Schrick cams and followers which take into account of the larger inlets valves. Currently I'm waiting on a set of s65 V8 Stage 1 cams to be fitted to my M3, can't wait to see what they can do in conjunction with the GruppeM airbox and akrapovic evolution exhaust system :-) I'm a die hard NA chap! lol

I'd love to do something like that to my M but alas don't have enough spare cash. Your car is what i would like mine to end up as, at least engine wise.
