Best way to remove moisture from headlamp unit?

I had a problem recently with condensation from a dodgy seal. When we finally had some dry weather, I took the back cover off and left the light on full beam for ten minutes or so. I then renewed the seal and, touch wood, it's been perfect ever since.

Back off, borrow a hair dryer and use on full heat for 10 to 15 mins, keeping it moving as you do it so the clear plastic housing doesn't melt... The lights on method didn't work for me, but I did do as above and bought some new back covers / seals from the stealers, as they are generally the problem from what I have read. Mine were certainly looking 6 years old with perished / hard rubber - cost me £24 incl. VAT. No probs since

1/ Buy a new rear light cover -approx £10 from dealer (condensation likely caused by fit of this).
2/ Wait for sunny warm day.
3/ Remove old cover and point car at sun.
4/ After a few hours, take car for a fast hoon. Around an hour or so will do.
5/ Park up, replace new rear light cover.
6/ Car should look normal again and not like its got a cateract.

I removed my headlight took the back off removed the lamps and stuck a hairdrier in there, put a new back plate on it and ran a small bead of silicone around the seal where the glass meets plastic, Cured it for me.
