Best way to fix carpet-

Is it heavy household carpet or trim carpet??

If its trim carpet

Something like this above. This hi temp adhesive spray (number of different brands) is incredible stuff having lined a day van with the stuff
 
Fix it with a 50 x 25mm softwood horizontal batten plugged and screwed to the brick wall top and bottom where the door won't hit it. :wink:

Probably as Lilywhite says............. fix batons to the wall then stretch carpet and screw, staple or nail in position.

Any reason you are fixing carpet to your walls ??????? :?
 
Door hitting - he has a small garage now.

In the past, I used flat screws with a large ring between the head and the carpet so that the carpet would not tear over the screw.

The other option is to buy a sheet of 12mm thick rigid PIR Celotex or similar insulation and stick it to the brickwork.
