Best way to find an air leak by intake manifold

So after installing my supersprint system and checking for leaks today I hear a hiss, checked all mountings and all's good and under further investigation it's coming from top side...it's the loudest right below the bolt hole spot that the cowling mounts to on the fuel rail, (M54) around cylinder 1-2 area. Worst case I'm thinking is a cracked manifold keeping in mind I'm running the ESS VT1 kit, but what would be the best way in going about checking the leak? I can't feel air from just touching around but putting my ear by the fuel rail was able to track down to that area being the loudest. The car has been in hibernation most of the time from October to now, with just a trip to the stealer to get my climate control sorted out, not remembering any hissing noises from then until it happening today. I only have about 2k mileage wise with the vt1 kit on.

Smoke test is one way, but the easiest DIY at home is a tin of starter spray or lighter gas, spray it at various areas with the engine running and if the engine surges, you've found where the air is getting in

 thanks I just found it, was the recirculating breather hose that runs right on top along the rail, pulled back a bit of the insulation on the hose and major hiss so I feel much better now, easy and far cheaper fix then what I was dreading.
