Best tyres for e89

I have now had the Z4 E89 a couple of weeks, it's just been serviced and apart from needing a new hall sensor somewhere in the hood mechanism it has a clean bill of health. so now to replacing those run flats. Michelin PS4 and Falken keep being recommended but I would appreciate your experiences/advice. I would just like a more comfy ride, I know the Z is a sport's car but feel sure it can be improved. The wheel size is 225 x 45 x 17 x 4no which should help!

I went for the Michelin PS4.

To exit my street i have to hill start at a T junction, on the run flat's i would wheel spin, now with the Michelin's
no more, even in the wet.

No more boom boom when running over cats eye's :)

Having run both I wouldn’t class the two tyres you’re quoting as comparable but since they are what you’ve asked about Blackcircles (other suppliers are available ) have an offer on the PS4’s just now so personally for the less than £20 premium it’d be the Michelin’s all day long for me

Thanks for the Black Circles prices Argyll Andy that's really helpful. I wasn't restricting myself to just those two makes so am open to other recommendations. I just want a nicer ride as I am so pleased with the car otherwise.

No problem, at that price I’d be ordering the Michelin’s and tying the price in before the discount disappears.

I’m running Avons at that size on my E90 just now, a good enough tyre and on par with Khumo’s/Tokyo’s/Falkens etc and all much of a muchness. Those PS4’s are approx £440 without discount iirc

FWIW I've had Falkens many times over the years and found them to be OK, but nothing more. I have always classed them as a 'mid range' brand and not on a par with Michelin, Goodyear or Pirelli. Horses for courses s'pose.

I went non run flats and chose Goodyear  Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3’s 28i msport. Took an age to commit and after taking the plunge wished I’d done it before cracking an alloy

Falkens had/have a big internet following but they're nothing special, both the FK452 and Fk453. Had a set of 452s myself and they were poor. Tyre tests repeatedly show they're at the tail end.

Spend a little more and you'll find better alternatives.

Well have ordered Goodyear’s all round. Being fitted next week. I got fed up with not being able to speak to someone at black.circles. All I received were stock faq answeres, I paid a little bit more for a local mobile guy who has been recommended, but don’t have to travel 20 miles and wait. I’ll report back after using them for a week or so.

After runflats i went onto adding toyos proxies sport on 18s all round and changing the size following mr Wilks recommendation. (It was a night and day transformation with handling and ride comfort)

I then moved onto adding mps4s on rears only as the front toyos are still holding up very well.

Just by adding rear mps4 the handling of the car in all weathers at any speeds is far greater than toyos all round hands down. No twitchy feeling in highspeeds or heavy rain.

Im convinced on mps4 being the best tyre for the e89. However to put a spanner in the works apparently khumos are supposed to be similar to mps4 in terms of feel, grip and stability for cheaper so would like to know if anyone here has any khumos on?
