Best tool for applying wax/polish

In the past, I used AG perfect polishing cloth to apply wax/polish. Is it good enough? Or should I try using pad (e.g. Turtlewax ICE applicator pad) or microfibre towel (e.g. Serious Performance)?

Should I wax my new Zed now with only 400 miles on the clock? Do all new BMW have quality wax after coming out from paint oven?

They only have the protected gunk all over them which the dealer removes with sandpaper like precision and care It is not unknown for customers to ask the dealer not to touch the car at all.

Besides the above, there is no wax procedure.

I tend to apply wax with a foam applicator and buff off using a good microfibre cloth.

Agree with prv - would consider the car to be supplied/delivered in a not very good state!

From a main dealer background not all dealerships prep is poor its down to the dealerships ethics on be it in house or contract valeters.
No main delaership knows of clay treatment, majority when it comes to machine polishing think a large white pad on a single speed polisher with fareccla G3 is the way its done etc.
You will ave some form of protection but very little so your best going at it yourself.

I tend to use round foam applicators for waxes but for polishing I use sonus german applicators as they have 2 sides, one is more stern than the other and makes working polishes far efficent and better.
You can get these from majority of detailing stores.
i get mine from serious performance or clean your car.

I just use the round foam applicators that came with some meguiars stuff I bought ages ago - the wax is long gone but I still use the pads for appling whatever wax I'm using at the time (works well with the size/shape of Collinte 476's tin).

The porter cable 7424 is the best tool I have ever bought for my vehicles. Just waxing the vehicle alone takes me about 4-5 minutes. Plus you have the higher speed settings to correct the paint yourself with a good swirl cutter. I got mine for about $120 and although it was a stretch at the time, I can't imagine how I ever waxed by hand in the past. It does such a good job that I even have my friends asking me to use it on their cars. 8)

I use Megs Foam Applicator pads, then buff with good quality microfibre.

Not only that our own Tweed demonstrated a hand wax on his car. Very sensual and personal experience he had with his Miss Merlot in the lakes before he covered her up for the night.
