best spray cans for plastic?

Plasti-kote, are you painting the metal parts? Plastikote also do primers for either metal or plastic.

In my experience these paints are much more suitable, flexible and hard wearing compared to Halfords style spray cans.

B & Q do a whole range of colours too.

nightyard, you going from plastic cream interior to black?

Yeah, really dont like the biege

bummer as sourcing a black interior from a breakers will be a min of £500 and a lot of effort to remove and fit

I take it your going for black?

whats your dashboard trim?

Bought some carbon fibre from carbonmods to skin the trim.

It was hard as hell to do...did main piece good then the rest are all messed up...angers me talking about it.

Ill see how they turn out when completely done though

dash trim has turned out ok but the center console trim has turned out poorly, subsequently I've ripped off the carbon fibre although the epoxy resin holding it all on put up a valiant fight...untill I set it on fire and after that it just peeled off.

Bought 8 cans of super matt black plastikote and 2 cans of super gloss black plastikote

plan is to gloss black the center console trim and then matt black all plastics

I just hope the gloss black center console trim won't look out of place with the dash trim being carbon fibre( I don't think it will :D )

Think I'll use the clear epoxy resin over the top of the gloss black plastikote for more shin and a more durable finish

Looking forward to pictures of this!

This definitely needs pictures!

Do the dash trims just pop off then? Apart from the centre console I guess?

Kind of...there are like retaining clips on the back of it...if u take the vents out u can feel them from behind. .the dash will pop off but its best to get your hand behind the dash and pull off the clips

I tried to do that carbon skinning myself, it's a real w**ker isn't it? I tried to do steering wheel trims and regret it GREATLY.

hahahha, SO much I regret it :P

should have bought the pro finish one which is pre impregnated with resin so it dont just fall apart lol

nevermind...I managed to use about half the roll I bought ok.
i think!.

dash trim and stuff near radiator hardening at the min... its hard to the touch but I think under layers will still be soft...want to make sure its fully cured before I start sanding and polishing

dash trim... erughh... haha, sanded down and polished... some of the carbon cracked because of it being so brittle after being epoxied and not being completely flat on the trim.

I'll upload photos when completely done... I'll no doubt be waiting for some gloss black trim to appear or be removing the carbon finish finish and then doing it piano black after

needs a machine polish ..dont know what to do about the crack holes..... fill it with gloss black or something I dont know
