I would like some advice on which plugs to go for in terms of performance on a 3.0si

Thanks in advance

This is a good thread on spark plugs - made me decide that standard plugs changed regularly is the way to go http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=84273&p=1249444&hilit=spark+plugs#p1249444

As i say in that thread, i ended up with Iridium in the end as thats all I could get my hands on hours before It was getting serviced. not cheap but with the 50k life to them the chances are I'm not gonna have to change them again in my ownership over the next 18 months. I have a couple spare just in case though

I use NGK iridium and change them every two years despite only doing 1-2k miles per year.

NGK iridium plugs come in two flavours, which ones to go for?

Iridium IX or Laser Iridium?

I know the Laser iridium ones are longer life but I'm not so bothered about this as I would change them more frequently.

But Im confused. The thread talks about how copper is a better conductor than both platinum and iridium, but then everyone seems to say they have gone with standard plugs. But aren't the standard plugs platinum ? Bosch part number FR7NPP332

In addition, doesn't iridium have better thermal qualities than platinum, so wouldn't iridium be the better choice? I personally don't care about longevity, as I simply don't do the miles, but also am happy to change the plugs at more regular intervals

Forgot to add, am I right in thinking that all spark plugs essentially still have a copper core, but its just the tip that is different ie platinum or iridium ?
