Well I think my brakes are about ready for swapping. All the discs have a good sized lip and the pads seem to be throwing out plenty of dust.

BMW will charge the earth for these, so was wondering if somewhere like Euro Car Parts or GSF will do the same spec parts at trade prices (I will fit DIY)

Not really interested in performance aftermarket as the standard kit seems perfect for road use.

I chose standard parts from BMW and I think I paid £320 ish for 4 rotors, all pads, rear drum shoes and sensors cables, can of cleaner and 4 sachets of brake grease"

I was happy with the price and as you know - took about 3 hours to complete at a leisurely pace.

Euro Car Parts seem to have most bits, but if you're unsure on any part you can call them with your OEM part numbers and they'll give you the options open to you.

Front pads
JURID p/n 101110130 £22.95+VAT (listed as OEM, but ETK lists originals as Textar T4146)
ATE p/n 101110135 £25.95+VAT (listed as genuine , but ETK lists originals as Textar T4146)
TEXTAR p/n 101110136 £30.95+VAT

Rear pads
ATE p/n 101110145 £20.95+VAT (listed as genuine , but ETK lists originals as Textar T4147)
TEXTAR p/n 101110140 £20.95+VAT

Front discs
ATE p/n 104110670 £36.95+VAT

Rear discs
Can't see one listed on ECP site

Overall you're looking at about £180+VAT for OEM/genuine parts (excluding the rear discs), but you'll have to get the rear discs somewhere else.

Hmmm, are those pad prices per side, or for a set of four?

Are the rear drum shoes an essential item to replace when the discs are done?

Looks like ECP is my best port of call for Textar pads and ATE discs... (guess they are essentially what BMW will sell me)

Rear discs I might just go to BMW for :)

Thanks

Pads are for an axle-set.

I didn't look for shoes, but I suppose you might as well do them while you're in there.

Just changed all the brakes on my car, it's 5 years old with 44K on the clock, ordered everything Disc's, Pads & Shoes the shoes are still sitting in garage the original still looked brand new so I didn't change them if that's help.

OK, got these ordered from ECP (Euro Car Parts)

Front:
ATE Discs 104110670 £32 each
Textar Pads 101110136 £26 set
Sensor 106110150 £6.30

Rear:
ATE Discs 104111010 £41.50 each
Textar Pads 101110140 £19.50 set
Sensor 106110480 £7.90

Total £237.72 inc VAT

I think the discounted me a little due to the large purchase, but that is a great price. If you know you have good sensors (not sure mine are even present/working), then you can save about £15 more there.
A few parts were special order to the branch so will take a few days to arrive.

Thanks mmm-five for the heads up on the right numbers, ECP confirmed those, and got me the rear disc number/price, which is what hurts at about £40 a disc vs £32 for the fronts!

Cheers

Dave

update: Added prices they charged... they have given me the wrong rear discs though (right number on invoice, wrong item picked) :( 104110010, not 104111010  )

Back I go next Saturday :)
