Right then. Just put a black ally stubby on which shows up the faded black base. Any ideas how to get it back to black?

Use a hairdryer on it,Warm the plastic and you will be amazed how well the black comesback.

Or you can use Autosmart Highstyle.

I've got Simoniz 'Back to Black' gel which works well (especially on your hands!) but like most of these products fades after a few weeks.

How long does the plastic stay black using the hairdryer method?

Scrub with APC, rinse, rub in vegetable oil, again with APC, rinse, then dress with some thing like AG bumper care/b2b etc.

Just using dressing without cleaning properly just means you need to keep doing it.

Can any of these products be used on the dash?-mine seems to have ingrained white from previous owner?-if not can anyone advise-thanks

Depends how long you work on it but up to 6 months a black and decker heat gun works better and quicker.

This is a trick that works well according to detailing world just make sure you remove parts dont want a heat gun near your paint

Dont use products with a shiney finish on your dash it reflects in the windscreen very annoying did it on my last car.

Just use warm water and a soft brush on mine then wipe with a leather.
