Halfords do a reasonable small kit and I purchased a Sterling Grey from them.
Ideal for minor chips, but if you met a kerb then you maybe into cutting back, primer, spray and lacquer??

Well I can see black underneath where the paint has chipped off (its lower front bumper, just underneath fog) do halfords do primer, is this required for the plastic bits?
What does cutting back involve? Just lots of wet and dry sand paper?

If you can see the black ABS plastic you're through the lacquer, paint and primer and probably have grooves, gouges or deep scratches.
All depends on how visible and how good a result you want.
Halfords kits come with primer, paint and lacquer (clearcoat). No matter what you do it will always be rough and obvious looked at closely.
To do it properly you'd need to cut back to a smooth edge, fill any marks, smooth again, then spray primer, paint and clearcloat.
Big job or a professional to match in or panel spray.

Agree with cj10 Halfords kit is great for small touch ups but you sound like you have a small scrape same place as mine had when i got her home from stealers but they would not admit they did it :x i just touched it in as its so low down can hardly notice but if you want a good finish then as said need to spray it.
How about on this side of the big water? Looking for some aerosol Alpine White for a small project.
