Best place for new headlight?

Sadly I’ve got xenons. Driver back plate fixing point had snapped off so waters getting in. Reading on here there’s not aftermarket option :(

If it's one of the tabs that screws the light to the car, you can get a kit from BMW to replace the broken tab. The screw on over the broken mounting tab. Much cheaper than a new light!

I'm assuming you mean something like the tab the spring clip hooks into and thus holds the rear cover on tight?
With a little ingenuity you could fab a replacement. At the crudest level it could be as simple as a stainless eye hook screwed into the plastic, or chops some bits of the plastic off and plastic weld to create a new mount.

If not possible then I'd get a damaged xenon and rebuild it together
Alternative will be an eyewatering bill for a new light or endless search on Ebay for a spare..

£1200 for a new housing (i.e. no bulb, ballast or igniter), or about half that on ebay.

Luckily mine only needed ballasts replacing, drying out, cover replacing and bracket repair kit - probably no more than £100 in total.

Thats the bugger, will keep my eyes peeled on eBay, I was thinking of getting a bracket made up and plastic welded to it.
