Best option for restoring black trim

I use Megs tyre dressing. I don't use it from the bottle though. The tyre sponge is always left upside down so the megs sinks in the sponge. The sponge is always soaking it up so just use the sponge on trim. works a treat

I've not found anything to work well on the wipers scuttle panel yet.
Don't snigger but try Turtle Wax tyre /vinyl rejuvinator  brush on or use small piece of sponge , allow to dry then buff with dry cloth , leaves a factory look & last months i find

I also now use this under the bonnet & on all rubbers & seals , find it better than the Gummi Phlege tbh :o

That's a nice engine bay. Nice and clean but not overdone.

Another thumbs up from me on this one    Mr. Wilks put me onto it and I use it all the time. Any black plastic, rubber anywhere on the car. As a bonus it even does your tyres too.....

I just bought some Turtle Wax Jet Black Endura-Shine Trim Coating. Comes with a sponge for applying it (which is way too big as far as applying to anything a bit fiddly).

I experimented with the Z4 kick plates, the tweeter housing on the passenger door, and the air filter cover under the bonnet, and I would have to say be very VERY careful with this stuff, it's like paint. The air filter cover now looks a bit 'streaky' and the rest are less than ideal (I followed the cleaning advice to remove any old silicone based treatments, although there shouldn't have been any as I generally don't use them). I ended up using an artist's brush to carefully apply thin layers as each previous one dried, and got an 'ok' result, but unless I'm doing something completely wrong, I wouldn't recommend this product for any interior trim as it is just too risky, and too easy to make a mess of it. Very glad I tried a few small bits first, as I was going to tackle the 'pebble' finish on the doors/dash etc - I think the end result would have looked like someone went mad with a can of dulux black houspaint...
I'll have to see if I can find any of Mr. Wilks' suggestion, but I don't think it's available here as I haven't seen it.

Tried out a new product this week called Corona (not the Mexican beer) by Angelwax. This synthetic spray wax can be used everywhere on your car so a great one stop shop. It's a thick like gel so a drop goes a long way.

This is what Angelwax has to say:
"Angelwax CORONA SYNTHETIC SPRAY WAX is designed to protect and rejuvenate every area of your vehicle.
Angelwax CORONA restores plastics, vinyl, rubber and all painted surfaces.
This unique formulation seals the treated surface and creates a hydrophobic barrier which revitalises the tired
and faded trim beautifully whilst adding amazing depth to painted surfaces.

DIRECTIONS:
For best results, wash rinse and dry the vehicle thoroughly before applying Angelwax CORONA
with a clean, dry, microfibre applicator pad. Apply sparingly in a circular motion coating the desired
surface and leave to cure for a few minutes before removing with a clean, dry, microfibre cloth."

As my paint work was already protected by our own wax I decided to test it out on the plastics and rubber. Sadly no before photographs but we all know how bad the plastics look on the Zed. Immediately it brought a deep black depth back to the shuttle panel with minimal effort. Simply wipe in one direction over lapping to ensure an even application. Leave to cure then buff off. Next up were the door mirrors surrounds, same process as before. Works incredibly well on rubber as well. Massively impressed by it, will let you know what its longevity is like.

These photographs were taken yesterday after a 100mile B road journey in the rain so repelling and protecting well!
250ml £15 - highly recommend.
