Best in car mp3 holder?

I've got a Sony walman and am about to do the mp3 cable mod... I'd like to have the mp3 played on the dash - what's the best way of doing this without buying one of the really cheap "mp3 holders" on eBay which is massively bulky...

Has anyone successfully tried using sticky velcro or any magnetic holders which you can stick to the dash?

You could use a brodit damage free mount, or those non slip mats which seem to work.

easy to fit and not too intrusive

I hate ugly things stuck to my dash, so my iPod touch and Blackberry flip usually sit on the passenger seat, or under the handbrake. Though I wouldn't mind getting a spec.dock for my iPod, it's a slick, but expensive dock that goes in the ashtray.

I tried a set of self adhesive velcro pads from Halfords and this works well - harsh side on the dash and soft side on the mp3 then just push it on/off. Benefit is that it's flush to the dash and doesn't take up much room - and its cheap!
