Best headlights for sterling grey car?

I've got a sterling grey e85 and I can't help but feel that with the current headlights the front end of the car looks really dull.

I've seen lots of people with clear/chrome headlights but not sure how that'd look in this colour.

Does anyone have sterling grey car with different headlights from me? And would clear lights look decent on this?

Clear indicators and silver Inners on a preface lift car are most likely homemade. Bathe very last 05 cars did have clear indicators but these are rare. The post facelift lights with clear indicators won't simply plug in.
To make your own it involves cutting open the light and changing parts for donar parts. Ch10jeeper was the pioneer so search his thread and it will show you what's involved.
For wait it's worth- I like yours as is!

Cheers. Sounds like I'm stuck with them. I think the issue might be that the plastic housing is quite faded and worn looking. I think maybe a good polish of the car is in order this weekend!

Just spotted in your signature that you retrofitted sound gen. Was it as easy job? Where did you get the parts?
 
I take it yours is a 3.0? weren't they the only one's to have black inners on the headlights, along with the grey bars on the grilles, to differentiate them from the lowly models?

Not sure I'd want my 3.0 mistaking for a 2.0!

Nah it's a "lowly" 2.2
 
I've a 3.0 with xenons sterling grey, tinting them was the easiest least expensive option tbh
(obviously if you've not got xenon you've prob other options available)

3.0 have the silver inners, and in terms of preface lift I think they have aged more.
OP the meguiers headlight restoration kit is a great buy at shining the lenses back up- I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
The sound gen is an way fit and worth doing. I got mine from a breaker on the forum but they do come up on eBay. If you get one and are local I'll happily fit it for you.
 
I have clear indicators and ford mercury grey painted inners. Done it myself and I love them.

No worries- when you get a sound gen if you need any advice on fitting I'm happy to help.
 
With your car's colour, I think you can get away with chrome/silver or black inners.
I bought a set of angel eyes headlights cheap, but they have chrome inners, and I just don't think they look good on a black car, so I'm now halfway through cutting them open to get the inners repainted black (but can't decide on matt or satin). It's a real faff cutting them open and now that I have one open, I'm thinking of taking the other one somewhere like a plastic welders and see if they can do it better.
I might start another thread to cover this, although I realise plenty of people have already done this or similar so it's not something new...
 
Thanks all for the responses and sharing pics. I went with the suggestion of Meguiars Headlight Restoration kit and WOW.
