Best halogen bulbs

Ive got std halogen lights on my E85 but was wandering if anyone can recommend a decent bulb upgrade. I was browsing in Halfords the other day and they've got all sorts ranging from a few quid up to about 30 quid each. I don't want a blue light but the brightest white without changing the light units for xenons. Any suggestions?

A few on here have upgraded their bulbs to Nightbreaker Plus with good results.

Don't buy from Halfrauds, they're a rip off. Online bulb sellers are best, some even do side lights for free with a pair of headlight bulbs.

I've used Osram Nightbreakers to good effect, no complaints here.

x2 on all that. I got Osram Nightbreaker's from eBay, about £28 for four to replace all the bulbs. I like 'em, Philips are apparently just as good.

Philips Diamond-Vision 5000k absolutely transformed the Hellogens (not a typo) on my E46 touring. I use them by default on every car i now buy. They also go through an MOT just fine.

I've had a look at both the Phillips and the osram bulbs on t'internet and both look good has anyone tried the Phillips blue vision ultra?

Far too blue. IME, once you go beyond 5000-6000k you lose light intensity and gain colour.

Diamond Vision and Crystal Vision are as far as I'd go.

Ha Ha Ha My Missus says my wick went out when I joined this forum
Im gonna try these Diamond vision 5000 thank you Daffy  Just got to find best price!

They must be good at that price!

How long do they last? When I've tried Xenon effect bulbs in the past the most I've got out of them is 6 months. I was careful not to touch the bulb with my hands too after the first set went in under a month.

I think I might try some any way to match my new LED side lights.

Best price I could find was £28 delivered for two bulbs.

It also says these are for off road use only?

Price sounds about right, Nothing about offroad use was mentioned on mine when I got them. They're a lovely white light, almost identical to my OEM 6000k Xenons.

Are these the ones?

As they say "Please note, these bulbs are not E marked so therefore not strictly road legal."

Have you got any photos of yours installed?
