best exhaust note

just been out and realised just how sweet the m exhaust rasp is, there was a council estate scooby with its turbo dustbin exhaust revving it up at the lights,.......
I hate the sound of those things,anyone have any suggestions for best exhaust note on the street ? one of my favorites is a carrera 4 s with the switchable exhaust :thumbsup:
 
Vantage drove past in Regent Street this morning. Had that deep but unmistakable Aston rasp as he blipped the throttle to beat the lights. Lovely.
 
My next door naghibors TVR 350c :wub:

He wakes me up with a smile some weekends. Just gently blipping the throttle.
 
I loved the noise From my 996 with sports exhaust ,still miss the sound when you hit the power band ,also in theUS I drove
A doge ram with the hemi wich had. Major exshaust mod twin pipes both sides of the rear wheel AWESOME :D
 
I have to say, that Lexus LFA on Top Gear sounded aurgasmic :wub:

Definitely that, Porsche Carrera GT or Zonda. Really couldn't pick.

Although the GT3 version at Oulton Park are much louder and you can feel it in your bones.

I couldn't disagree more.

Forgetting the unobtainable supercars, I feel that the Scooby has one of the best and most distinctive sounds with the Boxer engine and header set up. Especially when compared to the likes of its rival the Evo, which actually does sound like a 1.2 Corsa with a 'big bore'.

I enjoy the sound of astons & TVR's but the best sound for me has to be the Porsche Carrera GT I was at a show once & he was just revving it & then he did a 0 to 60 sprint I was in heaven! :driving:
 
When I hear a Z4 M with RPI, I can't help but smile...

then I say 'PHHHOAAAARR!!!!"

...but I think best of all time has got to be the 599 GTO. I've been through a tunnel in this and it is absolutely unrivalled by any other sound.

I think some of the best sounds sometimes depend on your mood!, sometimes it’s a burble of a Tvr or the rasps of an Aston, or the songs produced by the Italians, so difficult to decided :)
 
Ultima with a 6.3l Chevy V8 sounds gorgeous, no CAT. Two great big exhausts you could fit your whole fist into. We used to get in trouble with the neighbours when leaving it ticking over as it 'upsets the fish'...

On another note, heard some newish Bentley pulling away outside yesterday and honestly thought it sounded like a tuned up Saxo.
 
My ears do like a V8. The AMG black series cars make the sound of the apocalypse, possibly one of the most industrial sounding V8s and lovely. The Alfa 8C is at the other end of the spectrum. Silky smooth sounding with a higher pitch but still with that unmistakable V8 thump.

The howl of a V10 never really does it for me, it's to F1. Porsches sound better inside than out. The sound of the V12 in the Aston Martin DBS is pretty special.
 
As I stated. the black series is the ultimate dirty Merc V8. If satan had a soundtrack...
