Best compact camera with good optical zoom??

Evening guys,

I've been doing a bit of research on compact camera's and it's quite clear that in terms of quality the Sony RX100 is the winner. However, it's only 3.6 optical zoom and coming from 10x, I'd really miss that.

Is there another camera that comes close in terms of size, quality and price (around £300-£350), but with a decent optical zoom?? Not interested in faffing with interchangeable lenses etc

Yeah TZ60 is 30x which is crazy.

to be honest Lumix TZ5 (2008) doesn't give the best picture, but I'm sure the game has moved on.

Sony Cyber-shot HX60V has 30x zoom and is £340ish - (gets great reviews).

Have you looked at Canon Ixus range? I've had one for ages and although I'm not a pro, love it.
