Help. I think I am tasty. I mean, I always get bitten by mosquitoes. I'm going on hol to Australia this month. Please can you recommend a way to combat them? Only thing I can think of is repellent spray prior to going out. But it has to be re applied?

You could always try one of those mosquito nets we buy loads of every Comic Relief!?! Not sure quite how you'd look with one looking around the Opera House or on Bondai beach. :tumbleweed:

Jungle formula always works for me in the UK, but on my last couple of trips to Aus never experienced any mosquitos there.

Not sure you will have to many issues with mozzies in Aus. Of course depends which bit, if you do buy something then deet is the ingredient you need to look for. You can buy 100% deet but you must limit the duration you use it.

little feckers will get what ever you do, the bites don't half swell and hitch like mad :headbang:

Take piritin antihistamines - it stops them swelling and itching as bad - wear long trousers shirt at night and you sleep make sure windows are closed and use a plug in mozzie killer. Citronella oil helps too.

i find that this normally scares the little blighters away :P !

Lol love it!!!! I usually use a strong repellent with at least 50% DEET in it, spray it all over you before getting dressed, through not on clothes as it will rot them.

I also take antihistamines every day which will reduce the effects of any bites. And then cover up in the evenings so there is minimal exposed skin.

Nothing but gin & tonic for me.

But if I'm going somewhere warm and am wearing short clothes then I'll likely be wearing factor 50

I use Repel. It's really good and stays on unless you swim. It's a bit oily but I can put up with that to keep the little buggers away.
It's cheaper on amazon.

I lived in Cyprus for 2 years and used skin so soft. It was recommended by the expats out there and it works. I'm usually bitten loads but I had a years free itching because if it!

My wife takes me with her, guaranteed she doesn't get bitten, I get all the mozzy damage. Best thing to do is go somewhere cold.If you have to go to the tropics, I just use a good anti histemine cream once bitten to stop the itching. Have tried all sorts to prevent the bites, and find nothing works for me.But, we are all different, so you have to find something that works for you.

Really good on Bondi beach if I was a strict Middle Eastern woman. Can you make sure you cut eyes out for me, big enough for me to oogle some fit men?? :tumbleweed: 8)

Hello marchantuk. Thanks for replying. I think 100% would be lethal. I already have sensitive skin. Have heard Deet before. Just having a looking online for more more info.
