Best BRIGHT LED low beam headlights?

Looking for a very bright LED bulb for my Z4. I ordered a pair of:
LUXSTER 2024 Punisher 40,000LM H7 LED Bulbs but not sure if they will fit with the CANbus chip.

The current halogen’s are so weak. Looking for something very bright

I’m in the same situation, I have upgraded them to osram or Phillips (can’t remember which now)
I’m happy with the main beam but I still need a low beam upgrade…

Hopefully these LEDs I’ve ordered fit. Supposed to arrive tomorrow. Will let you know. 40k lumen would be awesome for low beams. I’m happy with my high beams but I rarely use them

What about bi-LED projectors? It will be more expensive but I'm sure the beam will be better than with any bulb in an original projector.

I have bi-xenon and have replaced projectors with EVOX-R 2.0 from Retrofitlab. Much brighter beam, it has a great hotspot, not that great width, the cutoff is really sharp, however I'd wish it wasn't that sharp. But overall it is a huge improvement for night driving.

Interesting, and the retrofitlab product page has compatibility listed for Z4 E85:

Direct replacement of both halogen and xenon projector. Installation is very easy, as projector can be taken out from the back of the headlight without splitting the headlight.

Very interesting. £150 plus bulbs for UK it seems.

It would be interesting to see how the EVOX-R would work with Halogen H7 bulbs (It says you can, with slight mods), or would it not be worth the effort...?

If I originally had halogen headlights, I'd go with bi-LED projectors. These are designed for LED light source while H7/xenon projectors are not.

Anyway, if your original projectors aren't shiny anymore, it will help to replace them with EVOX-R. Xenon projectors are known for fading, but I don't know if it's the same with halogen projectors. You can check this without removing the headlight from the car. You can take the projector out through the back of the headlight (if you can't check it's surface otherwise).

I did inspect my reflectors last year and they didn't seem too bad, but the output is still pathetic. I had a journey late last year where the full moon on the road ahead was brighter than the dip beam.

Halogen?

Yep, but with LED bulbs in (no-name eBay ones with fans.) Had Phillips bright halogen bulbs in before that, LEDs are better but not bright enough for my liking yet.

Do you know anyone who makes such a bi-led projector, that directly replaces the halogen dip beam set up?
Many Thanks
Dave.

Edit - It appears that retrofit lab also do a kit to convert the Z4 halogen set up to to Bi-Xenon.

I only know Retrofitlab and Morimoto (USA).

The EvoX-R is known to be direct replacement for Hella e55, other projectors will take some modifications to fit.

But even EvoX-R takes some minor modification as it's shorter than E55.

I've got Osram LEDriving bulbs for the dipped beam. They are much better than the halogen bulbs, but still not brilliant like a modern oem LED headlight.
They pass the MOT each year without quibble.

Thanks, It looks like I will go for the Retrofitlab Bi-xenon kit, although their website doesnt say if there are UK import charges...
When did you buy your kit, as there are no recent updates, and I worry that they have gone out of business!!
Thanks again,
Dave.

Any issues with LHD v RHD if you're importing them?

To fully convert to Bi-Xenon dip, from halogen, with mid-range bulbs, seems to come to around £250 with shipping.
Of course, MOT legality may be a concern, and potentially import charges as well...

Still, like Caius, I have to do something to drastically improve my dip beam, its becoming lethal, my 1938 BSA has better headlights!!
