Best Bluetooth streaming solution in a M Roadster?

So I bought a very cheap Bluetooth adapter thinking I could just pop the back panel off in the boot, unplug my CD changer and voila Bluetooth streaming... obviously didn’t realise that the M is different, and the battery is a problem...

So what is the best Bluetooth streaming solution for an M roadster which doesn’t involve me dismantling the entire middle of the car? or is that inevitable?

Set up is,
Nav
HI Fi Stereo (not the super posh one)
Bluetooth phone prep (works fine)

So all I need is to plug this thing into the CD changer cables and it would be perfect but, I can’t get to them! I have looked on here and found some great posts on taking the car apart, but can’t see any of the images...

Is there a simpler solution or am I just going to have to go to a specialist and spend a fortune?

Assuming it’s the same stereo in the M as the rest of the range then I would just add the aux in connector to the back of the stereo and use it to accept a simple Bluetooth streaming device.... https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=104224&hilit=Iphone&start=15

I have a Grom BT3 which fits where you intended to place your adaptor, however, Grom has the same device that connects directly to the back of the radio. Removing the radio isn't difficult, just isn't as easy as lifting a piece of carpet (in a non ///M).

PS: I didn't bother installing the microphone as my phone is able to connect to two bluetooth devices at once, so I stream music via the GROM-BT3 adaptor and all handsfree functions via the car's system (so I can still access my contacts and take calls with the steering wheel control).

Got a Bluetooth FM transmitter for $25 - works great.

(Upgraded Version) Bluetooth FM Transmitter, Sumind Wireless Radio Adapter Hands-F... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0756WZ2V3/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_i_GeSeDbWTHX58K

Yep, I got a FM transmitter very much like it, it does everything I need it to do, it even talks to you to tell you it's connected and disconnected. I wasted time and money on the hard wired variety and because I couldn't rely on it every day, (it's got some problem or other) and one day it works the next it don't. . So I bought a cheap transmitter like LV and others.i accept you can't change tracks through the steering wheel. But for 10 quid or so I can live with it. .and it does everything else, it takes phone calls and I can rely on it.

I've been using the AUX jack which is hidden under the right side, of the edge on the sound system. While it's not the most tidy solution, I am able to just quickly unplug it and put it in the glovebox so it's out of sight, out of mind.

Where is this aux Jack and on what system or car is it to be found?
And what is it, a phono or USB?

Car from 2007 onwards, had an AUX 3.5mm jack added to all sound systems for MP-3 players. If you check the overhang above the ashtray in front of the gearstick, the AUX jack is on the right hand side.

My MR is a January 07 car and has it. I think one way to tell, is the audio unit is black, rather than grey and if you have a black unit (might be the other way round, I'm sorry but my Dyslexia causes me to get stuff like this jumbled), it will have the AUX jack.

I'll take a pic of my cable if need be later for you dude, if you want me to?

All facelift cars have black stereo units, but not all have aux as that didn’t come in until my2007
