Best black wheels?

I know there is a similar topic, but bear with me, my questions are different!

I know I want black wheels to replace my stock M wheels. Being a "wheel novice" though, are black CSLs the best option in terms of look and handling etc. or are there other wheels to consider (eBay etc is a minefield for different wheels).

Also, if they come in standard silver only, how do I go about getting them painted black? Ideally I want them black with a red rim. Also, best place to buy CSLs?
 
If you want black with a red rim then BBS CH special edition are what you need. Have a look at the bbs website, you can see what they'll look like on a z4. They're cheaper than CSLs as well although very similar - in fact the CSLs are made by BBS.

Looks good.. mine is black M roadster so want similar effect (red rims to match red leather)

Just curious, is the handling/ride any different for better or worse?

Also, were you able to fit the same tyres from your standard M wheels?
 
hi alexman, I've a similar colour combo to urs. I'm looking for some black wheels too. i'm looking at some ACS reps but hardly any around because of the wider rears on the M. I wonder if anyone fitted 19s and has made the ride more harsher. I love it as it is(18s-ride).
 
Mine :) (even though they are DIRTY in this pict) these were just painted, but they are chipping, Id suggest powdercoating.

I bought them from a guy in California who owns a body shop, he painted these, got some CSL's painted those, and then sold his car about a year later. So I picked these up. I have to say when they are clean they look GREAT.
