Hi,

I searched and found an old topic from last year about the best products to use for cleaning and maintaining the soft-top. A few products were mentioned, official BMW one, Raggtopp and Autoglyn? Are these available at places like Halfords? If not where can I get some from?

My Zed is yet again completely mucky so I plan to clean it up Saturday (!) and because of the rain I want to protect the soft-top with a beading product. What sort of products do I need? I read that with the Raggtopp stuff, it's powdery and tends to blow away and I don't have a garage. I also read that the BMW one is one you dilute and then sponge on, which might be better for me but is it quite pricey being an official BMW product? I had a soft-top before my Zed but I think it was made out of a different fabric and I never really put anything on it to protect it (well the car wasn't as nice as the Zed so to be honest I didn't really bother :P ) How much do these products cost?

Many thanks guys!

I use Raggtopp, cant say it's powdery as it's an aerosol, but you do need a garage or wind free conditions otherwise it wont be the roof you are protecting.

From what I have seen the costs are similar to BMW OEM but I maybe wrong, so as they say he choice is yours.

Motorgeek.co.uk is where you can get it from and mention the forum and you get 5% discount as well (I think)

Yup, see below:

I use ragtopp if it's not windy... if it is windy it is hopeless and the aerosol blows away LOL. Autoglym is a close 2nd though, and Halfords often do 3 for 2 offers on cleaning products so it works out good value.

Renovo is another one i have been told is very good but i am new to soft tops and i am going to try the BMW one first after hearing good reports of it on here.

I found this product just after buying my car last year, they are based near where I work, but have never come across anybody who uses it.

also when I emailed them they never replied :x

Hi, iv'e used most of the products mentioned on my 3 series convertible, its all about whats easiest to use.The cleaners are about the same, spray on, a little scrub then wash off, the protectant i prefer is RENOVA, its brushed on and soaks in and lasts 6 months, dont get on with Autoglym every bottle i used drips or leaks everywhere, really messy. hope this helps :driving:
