bespoke Z4 soft (half) roof cover

I had a bespoke roof cover made by Buzz Topz on Ebay for my 2003 Z4. They normally manufacture them for MG's and Z3's but as they were local to me I thought I'd ask if they'd be interested in making them for Z4's.

Anyway, I didn't know whether there would be much interest, especially given our wet weather! I have hopefully attached a link to 7 photos in my photobucket (sorry if it doesn't work... I'm new to uploading photos)! I could email direct if need be.

The cover is top quality with magnetic strips and only £50! A bargain. :)

Please bear in mind, mine was their first attempt, so they may tweak it for an improved fit.

Looks good, but I wonder how well it would stay on in serious weather. I have a Cabrioshield, which is a lot more pricey, but has a bar at the back which locks in the boot. During extreme winds, this has been the only thing stopping the cover fly off down the road.

It's only another £40 so it's not a huge difference. What is the special fixing on the Cabrio Shield?

I cant help thinking pockets for the door mirrors would help locate the cover more securely.

I've been thinking about one of these as I have the beige coloured roof so keeping it clean is a bit of an effort.

The cabrioshield has the same magnetic surround and wing mirror velco attachment style... but the front of the cover is shorter so that it goes under the wipers and at the back there is a line of hard plastic, which fits into the top of the boot, making it impossible to steal without damagine it - and ensuring it stays on.

Hope that helps.
