Bentley Bentaga-thing...

Most of these sort of things are mingers to some degree - I mean does anyone buy an X6, GLE or Cayenne for it's looks?? (Well unless they can't get to Specsavers maybe)!

They'll still probably sell as many as they can make - after all, you can't buy taste!

Wonder when Rolls-Royce will create their take on this theme?

Me.
Absolutely love the look of them and always have. :D

Interesting. As a former X5 owner I've always seen them as the same, but with the loss of carrying capacity and only a 4 seater.

Not a criticism just a different perspective.

I can see why an X5 might be required in certain circumstances but really fail to see what an X6 offers over and above that, apart from one less seat, less load space and a higher price - and "different" looks! But given that this is Z4 Forum I really can't see how anyone thinks an X6 is a looker (sorry Nictrix)!

But if you like them I hope you enjoy yours!

No offense is taken, everybody likes different things, after all you have a coupe :poke:
The newer models have a choice of 5 seats and if you have seen the boot, its MASSIVE.
I suppose if you were to look at it from your perspective, what does a Z4 coupe have to offer over a roadster?
And I dont think a roof and a larger boot is the right answer :D

two extra windows? :D :D

A roof and all its benefits: increased structural rigidity, increased passive safety, reduced cabin noise and thermal insulation.
A new boot lid that changes the looks of the car dramatically (imo, for the better) whilst increasing the boot capacity.

The only thing it doesn't offer over the roadster is...what makes the roadster a roadster.

The E89 has two extra windows. :D
With the folding hard top it is also very quiet inside and very warm. :D
Two cars in one, almost coupe looks with the roof up and roadster with the roof down :D

Me too! If it could have done the proper off roading stuff then I would have had one over the RRS.
Although thats not what I have one for there are plenty of videos online with them offroad and they seem more capable than some others.

I think what you term off road and what I term as off road maybe slightly different. I watched quite a few videos before I bought the E89 and it wasn't capable.

You also need a decent set of proper grabbers on the wheels too. They have no way to change the ride height and for what I'm using it for it needs it. With the range of luxury SUVs now avalible that offer proper off-roading capability BMW will probably have to change at some point.

There is an X6 which parks next to my RRS. It's the same ride height as when I'm in access mode and thats to help entry and exit from it.

But still a great looking car in my eyes. Although not so sure on the new ones rear end. That bumper looks a bit too big and pasticy. But the one you have is I think spot on.

Yea, I wasnt talking of climbing over treetrunks and stuff but comparing to a lot of other so called 4X4s they are not bad.
The suspension is far too stiff to be able to do anything major in any sort of comfort.
Seen some vids with them sliding about in 2 foot deep snow and they plowed through it quite well.
They seem to be able to climb muddy hills better than smaller lighter 4X4s as well.
